Happy Birthday Chase!

I know I am a day late. It was Chase's 23 birthday yesterday! I didn't have any time yesterday to post a little Happy Birthday thing for Chase. We were able to spend all day yesterday together. It was so much fun. I woke up and took him breakfast, and then we went to go look at some ideas for Wedding announcements. We had an appointment yesterday with the Wright House to pick stuff out for our reception! That was a lot of fun!!! We went and looked at my wedding band and found the ring he wanted. Again a lot of fun! I can't wait to add the wedding band, its beautiful! Then we went to Gameworks since we were out that direction to blow some time before dinner at his families. Me and Chase are both very competitive so of course we competed in all the games! haha We had dinner at his parents that night. It was a great day! Oh ya, and for his birthday, i got him a black beach cruiser bike!! Its awesome and he is so excited! He had no idea. It was fun to suprise him! Happy Birthday Chase! I love you! Wedding plans are going great! Almost 3 months exactly and we can't wait! Also Happy Birthday to my sister Tobi! It was her birthday as well yesterday!

Shawcroft Cabin 2008

*WARNING*LONG POST!! So this past week we were able to go up to Chase's Nana and Papas cabin in Southern Colorado. Its pretty close to the New Mexico border, but Chase thinks if people hear New Mexico, they are going to think its not beautiful. haha Pictures don't do it justice. Its gorgeous there! We left last Wednesday and got there pretty late that night. Thursday morning consisted of going and looking at all the places we didn't see because of driving in so late(which was everything) Anyways we drove around to different places and decided to go up to the top of what is called "Spruce Hole". The elevation is at 10,500 feet so it was pretty high up there but its a tradition for the Rasmussens to go up there and take pictures. Well we drove my car up to the cabin cause it gets better gas mileage than Chase's car. We made it up to the top of the mountain perfectly fine. Took some amazing pictues. On our way back down, not more than 5 minutes from the very top, Chase hits a huge rock!!! I knew it didn't sound good, but Chase said, oh i think we just bottomed out. As i look in the mirror and see something leaking behind us I tell Chase to stop!! As we get out of the car, and strong stench of oil was all around us!! Sure enough, Chase cracked the OIL PAN in my car! Turned the car off and started climbing down the mountain. I wasn't very happy, and either was Chase. My sister Tobi was invited by Chase's cousin up to the cabin so they were with us as well. I wasn't in a very good mood after that:( After walking about 1 1/2 to 2 hours a car comes driving up the mountain, so we stop them and ask if we can get a ride back to the cabin. Luckily they were very nice people and said on their way back down, they will pick us up. We walked for another 30 min and finally got picked up! To spare you the long details, my car was on blocks the whole time we were at the cabin, luckily a family member is a mechanic so it was fixed and ready to go by yesterday morning for coming home. Chase's papa(who will be doing the sealing for us when we get married) asked me if there are grounds for a divorce, before even being married!!! haha I was cracking up! The family was real worried that I didn't love Chase anymore for destroying my car, but its fixed and all better. Yes I do still love Chase more than ever! So looks like November 7th is still the date!! haha I had the best time being with all of Chase's family and getting to know them better! I can't wait til next year to go again, this time we will be married:) There are many more details about the trip but I am getting tired of typing so thats all you get! Here are some pictures!

Family Home Evening!

So on Monday night we had FHE with some of the family over at my house. We had a fun time swimming and jumping off the roof. My cousin Jared thought the kids would like it if he went and bought dry ice and then put it in the pool! I think the grown-ups liked it more than the kids! haha Wedding plans are going good. Its been almost 2 weeks now since Chase proposed but it seems much longer!I hope November 7th comes quick!! I still get so excited when I look down at my finger and see the ring. Yes I do sleep with it on:) haha I went dress shopping on Monday with my mom and sisters and I found my dress!! It was surreal. Walking into Arizona Bridal and thinking, um we are shopping for wedding dresses for ME...wow! haha Anyways, I knew once I put on the dress that it was the one, and don't worry, I didnt know this at the time, but it was on SALE for $99!! Yes I said $99!!!! We were so excited! haha Its everything I wanted...I guess you guys can all see it on November 7th! We are off to Chase's grandparents cabin in Colorado next week so Im sure we will take plenty of pictures! Until then, hope everybody is doing great!!

I'M ENGAGED!!!!

Well guys, it happened! Me and Chase are engaged! Who needs real fireworks when you can make your own? haha jk I am on cloud 9 right now, I could not be any happier and more excited to be with Chase for eternity! I honestly had no idea he was going to propose when he did. We were at my house for a family BBQ and all of a sudden Chase is like "Tatum come with me hurry!"(my family had no idea, except for my dad) So as we are walking out front, I am so confused at what the point of it was. I thought he was just going to show me the storm clouds coming...I honestly didn't know. Well we are standing out front of my house in the grass, and Chase turns me to face him and says, "I kissed you for the first time right here." Gets down on one knee(keep in mind my face Im sure was the most blank stare...haha I was so confused and had no idea what he was doing) starts to lift up his pant leg and pulls a big ring box out of his sock and opens it up and the most beautiful ring is staring right at me!! "Tatum, will you marry me?" And I said "OF COURSE!!!" It was the most perfect proposal. I had no idea! haha I didn't know this at the time, but Chase's brother Brent and sister in law were outside my house taking pictures of us, so the proposal was photographed!! The date is November 7th so put it on your calendars! We are so excited and can't wait to start our lives together. I know that there isn't a perfect person out there, but Chase is perfect for me. I love him and can't wait for him to be my husband:)
