A year ago today....

This happened. I married my best friend. It was the best day of my life...and still is everyday I am with Chase. I couldn't ask for a better husband. This past year has been amazing. He is the hardeset worker I know. He has a very strong testimony and loves the gospel. He honors his priesthood. He treats me like a princess. He makes me laugh everyday. He supports me in the things I do. I knew that I was going to be taken care of when I married Chase. He has not let me down. I am so thankful for Chases mom/dad and for raising such a good son. I don't know where my life would be if Chase was not in it. There is nothing more calming to me knowing that Chase and I will be on this adventure of life together. I love you Chase and am so thankful that you are my hubby. Happy anniversary!

The harsh realization...

So I have come to the harsh realization tonight, that after a year of marriage, NOT exercising has to go bye bye. My wedding dress is over at my parents, so I decided to try it on tonight and see if it fit. NO! Im sure if I would have tried I would have been able to zip it up, but it wouldn't have been easy. So as soon as Chase and I get over our little sickness we have been dealing with...running shoes here we come! But on a happy note:) Chase and I are coming up on our 1st anniversary on the 7th. I can't believe it went that fast. We have loved every second of it(mostly every second). Chase is almost done at ASU with his Bachelors and I have about 6 more months of Cosmetology school and I am done also. Life is a bit crazy right now, but we wouldn't have it any other way. It makes the time that we do get to spend together so much better. Well, Hopefully next time we will have something much more exciting to blog about. ha

I shouldn't let it get to me...

Every Saturday morning, Brent and I(Chase) get together to watch our favorite soccer team Arsenal. When they win, it leaves me feeling great all weekend long; when they lose, I feel distraught until the new week. Ok, so maybe I exaggerate a little, but still, why does it get to me? Maybe its the same reason why I can't watch embarrassing moments of a sitcom even though I know its fake.

But today, after watching another defeat, I'm just mad. Not so much at the loss, but what happened during the game. Now, to give a little background, the tall guy for the blue jersey team (Manchester City) played for Arsenal for the previous 4 seasons, but in the last 2, became very lazy, losing favor with the fans and some of his team mates. Van Persie, the attackee, was the leading scorer for Arsenal last year and is one of our best players.

In an article on BBC, Adebayor (the attacker) claims he was going for the ball when the following incident occurred. You tell me what you think. I'm still fuming(hence the post.) I know few of you care, but I thought I would share my feelings on the matter.

Happy Birthday Chase!

Today is Chase's 24th birthday. I was supposed to be at school today, but Im sick with the flu, so I get to stay home with Chase! He took the day off of work and is spending it getting a massage I suprised him with this morning(we love getting massages) and playing golf with his dad later today. I am so thankful for Chase and for the person that he is. I can honestly say he treats me like a princess. I love you Chase and hope you have a great 24th birthday today!!!

Seriously....

I am done with my first 8 weeks of Cosmetology school!! yahoo! Only 40 more weeks to go:( ha I am loving everything about it. Its been fun getting to know all the girls in my class and heck, getting your hair played with everyday is amazing:) I was always one of those girls that said she was never going to change her hair in cosmo school cause I love my red, long hair, but the first week of school I had a couple inches cut off and some layers and the next 2 weeks after that had my hair colored(it was just a color glaze which just makes my hair shinny, and extra vibrant red, but it has already faded out). It exciting to finally be doing something that I want to do. Chase has been more than I could possibly ask for. He has the summer off from school so we pretty much have reversed roles. He is the wife, and I am the husband. If Im not at school, I'm working. So the extra stuff I used to do: cleaning, grocery shopping, working full time, cleaning some more, and more, he has taken over. I love him:) We are staying busy and still loving married life. Its been almost 9 months. Its flying by. We went up to Colorado for the 4th of July so once I get a few minutes I will post the pictures from there. As always it was beautiful. WICKED Anyone??

So for Christmas Chase bought me tickets to go see WICKED but the problem is we are going to be out of Town for 4th of July and thats when it is!  If anybody is going, and would like to switch nights with us...I would love that!  We were supposed to be going July 3rd.  If anybody would want to go, let me know!!  Either switch tickets or just sale them to you!!

Tatum started Cosmetology school today. She's been looking forward to this day for a long time. And, in keeping with the tradition every family has, this is Tatum on her first day of school. (black is the required uniform) She'll be great!

Finally...

Its official! I am going to be starting Cosmetology school in less than a month! May 26th is my first day and I couldn't be more excited!! Im going to Kohler Academy in Scottsdale. I will be going full time, but only 3 times a week. Its really nice because then I will be able to work the other days Im not at school. I will be graduating April 30th of 2010. If anybody needs their haircut/colored for cheap, let me know!!!!

Anybody looking for a job???!!!

My work(Collins Comfort Masters) is wanting to hire a full time dispatcher for the summer time if anybody is interested!!! Your job would be answering phones, sending the technicians out on their calls, etc....its a really nice place to work.   If you are interested please let me know!    

You know your husband loves you when....

He stays up all night with you when he has school the next day and you are throwing up all night. If any of you know Chase, he is terrified of throw up. Thanks babe for taking care of me last night:)

Spring Break Weekend

So I thought I would suprise Tatum with a post on her blog. I still consider it hers since she is the sole contributor. It's spring break but we were only able to take off Monday from work so we stretched out our three day weekend into a fun-filled adventure.

Saturday, we went to the ASU baseball game. I highly recommend attending any of their games. They play well, the game moves a lot faster than professional baseball since their are no corporate sponsors who need their face time in between innings and ASU students get in free. Just be careful of foul balls. One was hit over us and we figured it had left the stands, but it hit the top, bounced backwards and right into Tatum's back. She's tough though, she didn't even rub it. I'm not a very protective husband as my first reaction to seeing the baseball coming back at us was to duck and cover. I'll work on that....




That night we went to the Jimmy Eat World concert with Brent and Amanda for the 10 year anniversary of Clarity. I'm not sure what my top 5 favorite albums of all time consist of just yet, but I know Clarity is at least #3 if not #1. It was a blast to hear them play those old songs they never play anymore. They played from beginning to end of the album, harmonizing the best they could and came on for an encore playing "still sitting their with your legs crossed" and "No Sensitivity". Those are a couple of my favorite older songs so it was fun to hear them played. They ended the show playing a mix of their new stuff, so all in all, it was a great time.



We finished off our weekend of fun on Monday with a hike to the Wind Caves. Its was a beautiful morning, perfect for a stroll in the desert. Tatum and I had never hiked that trail before (or any other trail for that matter) and were a bit disappointed in the "Caves". I would classify them as Wind Crevasses or Wind Dents, not quite Wind Caves. Either way, it felt a lot better to go out and hike rather than sleeping the morning away.

He graduates the end of next semester. I start Comso school May 26th and am so excited to finally be starting!! We are going to be very busy these next couple years, but it will all be worth it!! We have been married now for over 3 months now and are still loving every second of it!!

So we are combining...Christmas, The Amazing Race:Rasmussen Style, New Years, Elliott's blessing, and my birthday all in one!!! I will keep it short, Christmas was wonderful! Spending time with both families and being with eachother for our first christmas was so good. The Rasmussen's were very generous! I am grateful to be apart of their family. My parents gave me and Chase our beautiful reception which was the best Christmas present ever! We participated in the Amazing Race:Rasmussen Style. Chase's dad had been planning this for a month or so. We did it the Saturday after Christmas the first day the light rail opened. If any of you have watched the show, you know that the teams are sent all over the world...well we were sent all over the valley having to use the light rail as transportation. The winner of the Race recevied $100!!! Of course Team Chatum(Chase/Tatum) prevailed once again!! We finished the race about 15 minutes before everybody else! Thanks Papa Ward for a fun time. New Years we decided to kind of take it easy. We hung out with my siblings over at my sisters house and played Rock Band all night. It was a lot of fun! Our nephew Elliott Andrew Rasmussen was blessed this past Sunday. Brent did a great job and Chase was able to participate in the blessing. I am thankful for my husband who is a worthy priesthood holder. Elliott is adorable and Im sure will be one spoiled kid! The first always is! My birthday was on January 5th...Chase woke up early and made me my favorite breakfast!! We then went and saw TWILIGHT...Chase was nice enough to go see it with me. We did some furniture shopping and then went over to the Rasmussens for some cake and ice cream with both of our families. Chase definantely spoiled me with a new IPOD!!! I love it!! We have been married for 2 months now and are loving it. I am thankful for Chase and for the happiness he brings into my life. I couldn't ask for a better best friend:) Oh ya we just got our first callings...we are the CTR 6 teachers! We get to teach together so its going to be fun!!
